Run to the Taps - YYC FAQ

What is the Run to the Taps- YYC all about

Focusing on some of Calgary's best Craft Breweries, to run 6km, 8km, or 10km is all about fun- You run from one Craft Brewery to the next and enjoy a pint, get a tour of the brewery and then head on to the next stop!

Where do I sign up?

https://raceroster.com/events/2019/22646/run-to-the-taps-yyc

Is there an age restriction?

Yes, you have to be over 18 to register. Please carry your ID with you

Is there a cap to registrations?

Yes, 60 participants per brewery

What is Included?

An awesome 6km - 10km run/walk route, a Run To The Taps growler, and some snacks at the finish. Due to ALGB Regulations, we cannot include the price of beer in your registration. These will be purchased at the breweries on the day of the run.

Does this run support Charity?

Indeed we do- two in fact. Mito Canada and Diabetes Canada - you can donate when you register if you wish!

Is this a timed event?

It is not a timed run. We stop at red lights and say “on your left” when passing anyone walking on the sidewalks!

I want to run with my friends - how do I do that?

We have a few different distances, 6km to 10km.  If you are signing up with friends, pick the date (or both dates) that you are wanting to attend.  Then pick your starting brewery and sign up!

Can I walk the route?

Come and walk the route. We do though suggest you do the shorter distance though, as time is limited at each stop

What if it rains (or snows - come on it is Calgary)

Rain or shine - the run will go on!

What is route like -

Streets, and sidewalks. There are no closed roads, so extreme caution needs to be taken when running/walking between the breweries- We stop at red lights too!

Can I bring my dog?

No dogs - the breweries don't allow them inside, and we would hate for them to be left outside

What if I don't like or drink beer?

You know this is the beer run, right? But if you don't like beer, some of the breweries have ciders, or non-alcoholic drinks

Can I register Day of the event?

Only if we are not sold out. I would though suggest registering early as we are expecting to sell out

What time does it start and end?

The event will start at 11am -you will receive an email letting you know of the starting brewery. Allow 4-5 hours for the day as each stop is 45-60 minutes

Can I get a refund if I can't attend?

No refunds will be issued. We though will transfer your entry to another person until August 15th, granted they are over 18

Drinking and Driving

We all know it is against the law. If you have had too much to drink, please utilize Uber, taxi's or the Key's Please services. Please don't drink and drive. The Run to the Taps-YYC will assist you in getting you a ride if you need it- Just ask one of our volunteers or a brewery employee
